Besides the opportunity to train with fellow with triatletes, TCTC members can also attend competitions together. The table below offers a list of competitive events in the area as well as a list of triathlons that are likely to attract a larger list of TCTC athletes.

Triathlon
In the southern Appalachian region, there are a number of organizations sponsoring triathlons in our general region. SetupEvents hosts an extensive roster of events, mostly located in NC, SC and VA, but also in surrounding areas. Race Day Events hosts a number of triathlons, mostly centered around the Knoxville area. Team Magic, centered near middle TN and AL, offers well-run events in Nashville and Chattanooga.

Also listed are dedicated swim, bike and run events that are popular and ought to be of interest as well. Swimming / Biking / Running
There are few competitive events for swimming only. Clemson Aquatic Team hosts the Death Valley Open Water Meet each June with open water events ranging from 500M to 5K. The Tri-Cities Road Club is a well-organized group cycling team. Check with them about dedicated cycling competitions and/or time trials. The State of Franklin Track Club maintains a comprehensive calendar of upcoming training and competitive running events in the area. Links to TCRC and SOFTC are available on the Resources page.

Kids
Children are particularly welcome to join the triathlon world. In East Tennessee, there are several "Super Sprint" events, triathlons with shorter distances, that are well-suited to kids and other newcomers. Possible events include the TriDeltaThon in Knoxville, the Foothills Sprint in Maryville, the Springbrook Sprint in Alcoa, and the Winged Deer Triathlon in Johnson City.
